Mangia where you go it enjoys a wonderful view. The seventeen historic "contrade" give life to the famous "Palio dei cavalli"
The Cathedral of Arezzo houses a 15th century fresco
by Piero della Francesca depicting Maria Maddalena. The Basilica of San Domenico houses the Crocifisso of Santa Croce, painted by Cimabue in the thirteenth century. The imposing Fortezza Medicea offers a splendid view over the city. The city is also famous for the "Giostra del Saracino".
Unesco heritage, the name derives from clay, present in the soil, which gives the landscape its characteristic
gray-blue color and an appearance often described as "lunar". The landscape is characterized by barren and gently rolling hills, solitary oaks and cypresses, isolated farms at the top of the hills, stretches of forest in the valleys, fountains that collect rainwater. Typical conformations of the land are the "calanchi", the crags and the biancane.
